Exercising is important to me. Training and being physically prepared for whatever adventure comes my way is why I work out. I run now and then because it’s good for me, but running isn’t my thing. Long or short, the distance doesn’t matter. I can be bitter or better, but I’m always ready for it to be over. The same goes for how I feel about election time. Two years, four years, three miles, 26.2 miles, show me the finish line. The 2024 Presidential race has been a long race.
If you still need to vote, lace up your shoes, familiarize yourself with the ballot issues and course route, and give it your best. It is up to each of us to train and prepare to cross the finish line by casting our votes. Only then can the winner be determined. Reasoning and personal training plans vary from person to person, but behind each vote is conviction. Who knows what the swag bag at the end contains? Will promises be fulfilled, or will dreams be dashed? There will be tears of joy and disappointment. As much as we all want it to be over, we’ll do it again, and next time, we’ll vow to do even better.
There are no guarantees in an election race. As in any event, participants prioritize what is most important to them. Whether it’s speed or distance, location or elevation, different aspects are considered. In this presidential race, there can only be one winner. Please cast your vote, cross the finish line, wait for the results, and be satisfied when this race ends. We have the choice to be bitter or better. Let’s focus on making it across the finish line better than the last time. Exercise your right to vote!
