I’m taking this opportunity to say “Thank You” to you. Thank you for your friendship, support, and love. Every blog enjoyed, page read, or social media post liked is appreciated more than I can express. The enthusiasm I’ve received for my writing has been touching in so many ways. Book reviews and invitations to speak at your book clubs are humbling and exciting. Your cheerleading and interest in my work are contributing factors to my success thus far. Without you I wouldn’t be where I am today, so thank you!
The notion of writing a book wasn’t even my idea. Long ago a handful of Caring Bridge followers made the suggestion to write a book about my family’s journey. That’s all it took to plant the seed. Years later I took the plunge to share our story in hopes of inspiring other. While I know the book has had a positive effect on others, I am the one who is truly inspired. Who could have known how rewarding I would find writing to be? The warm welcome my writing has received has fueled my desire to share more stories. Currently, a novel is underway with several others percolating. A children’s picture book is another idea knocking around in my head. There are so many stories to tell!
Every time I sit at my keyboard I think of how thankful I am for you, my readers. The act of writing is solitary, but your comradery and support never leaves me feeling alone. If I could write with chalk on your sidewalk, in big pink letters, surrounded by a heart you would see the words, “Thank You!”
In the words of William Arthur Ward, “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” So again, Thank You and Happy Thanksgiving!
