What did the horse say after it tripped? I can’t giddyup!
What do you call an angry carrot? A steamed veggie!
These aren’t stage-worthy jokes, but I bet they at least made you chuckle, which is worth something. A sense of humor is good for the body, mind, and soul. Beyond lifting spirits, laughing has many health benefits. According to the Mayo Clinic, laughter can reduce stress, relieve pain, and improve the body’s immune response.(https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/stress-management/in-depth/stress-relief/art-20044456) There is an app or a pill for almost anything, but laughter is the best medicine.
Life is comical. There’s no shortage of reasons to laugh because funny things happen constantly: kids, pets, stupid reels. Laugh at yourself for the silly mistakes you make. There are innocent and inappropriate situations, like when my two-year-old pulled her pants down in front of everyone at the doctor’s office. When I reprimanded her later, telling her that it was unacceptable, her reply was, “I know, but it was funny!” I couldn’t argue with that. Her humor was just what we needed in those moments, in the office and on the way home.
Laughter in the moment is great, but funny memories have a value all their own. Recalling those side-splitting times when you laughed until you cried or wet your pants can’t be beat. Humorous memories instantly take you back in time, allowing you to laugh all over again. We can all relate to the times we’re not supposed to be laughing but can’t reel it in. That makes the moment more humorous. When one person giggles, others join in, even if they’re not in on the joke, because hearing laughter has a domino effect.
We can all use more laughter and happiness. Find reasons to laugh more because laughter is the best medicine.
